Last week (2009-06-21), this was how my zucchini plants looked.
Today, they looked ready for harvesting.
Now that I've done all I can with these vegetable (and while I wait for more to grow) the next step belongs to the GF. She's the one who turns "crops" into "food."
She took the zucchini, peeled and sliced it, grilled it, wrapped it up with Basil and Chives (that I also grew) and cream cheese (that I carried home from the grocery store) and made a lovely dinner.
Let's see what happens when the leeks come in.
That looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteWow, your zucchini look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteZucchini are probably my favorite vegetable and I cut them up and use them in every casserole - love Zucchini!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice looking zucchini ! I love the dinner idea. Looks very tasty ... we will have to give it a try !
ReplyDeleteThe cream cheese was actually a mixture of cream cheese, goat cheese, lemon juice, chives (that you grew) and garlic. In addition to the basil leaves rolled in there, there were also a few leaves of spinach that I had salvaged from the fridge crop. Can't wait for more zuchinni! Grilled zukes are the best!
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! I can't wait to begin harvesting from my garden.
ReplyDeletelooks good - great going!
