Quick Election Day thought

Road Trip_2004-04 036

You done good, big guy.

And after writing, rewriting, and deleting paragraphs about voting, the candidates, tonight's McCain/Palin SNL appearance, and the impending demise of the 2008 political ads, I'm just going to leave it at that, and encourage everyone to earn their free coffee on Tuesday.

No more ads - hallelujah! I just hope there are no controversies or the like in the counting of the votes. Please, no hanging chads!

If the coffee is free, what's up with "earning it"?;)

I am happy the ads are over. I am also happy that this should send the economy upward. I believe this night is what the world economy has been waiting on.

Starbucks had a hiccup in that free coffee giveaway. Apparently, by law, a business can't give away "gifts" to voters (that's incentive! Bribery! Oh no!). In the Guardian: "Starbucks' great coffee giveaway has hit a snag. It's apparently illegal to offer any incentives for voting. Still, it hasn't deterred other companies such as Krispy Kreme and Ben and Jerry's giving out freebies to voters. Starbucks, meanwhile, have said: "To ensure that we are in compliance with election law, we are extending our offer to all customers who request a tall brewed drip." Free coffee for everyone. Yay for violations of election law."
