In addition to being a great way to express my bacon love, the bandage has the added benefit of looking meaty enough, that if I just glance at it, I freak out and wonder how I managed to gash my hand open like that without extra pain and wonder why my hand looks like bacon, and...oh...yeaaaaaaah.
The bandages are courtesy of Kathy over at The Junk Drawer blog. I won them in Kathy's occasional "What's that contest?"
You may have seen her posts in my left sidebar. If you're not already a reader, I'd encourage you to check it out. She is a great story teller, and isn't afraid to tell tales many would consider embarrassing. She's got a original and humble voice that's well worth reading. I can't wait for the latest update on Windy, a plastic bag that's been stuck in a tree in Pennsylvania for more than two years.
Oh, she also sent me this awesome magnet.
Check it out. I may not comment all the time, but I never miss a post.

Cromely! I'm so, er... glad? I had the same strange feeling of glee when I got a bad paper cut and could put on a bacon bandaid! How could you be in pain when you're surrounded by bacon? The only problem with them, I found, is that at first glance it looks like a regular bandaid that's been bled through. I had people freak a little before I showed them what looked like blood was the meat in the bacon.
I saw Windy last week, but my pictures of her didn't come out so great. Taking a better camera to work this week and might put up a Windy post for Thanksgiving. Appropriate, no? Stay tuned!
Oh! And where are my manners? Thank you for the nice things you said about me and my blog. You made my morning!
Bacon bandages? Whats next? We'd be afraid to wear them because dogs may think it's lunch time.
We love the Junk Drawer site too!!
That band aid is awesome! I wonder where she found them? My kids would go nuts over them.
Too funny! Does the dog try to eat your hand?
Somehow it doesn't surprise me the bacon bandages came from the Junk Drawer. Very funny and loved your blog about it.
@Junk Drawer Kathy: You're quite welcome. And yes, you're right, bacon does make it all better. I wonder if there's away to use it as an actual skin graft.
@Silly Willy and Fluffy: Is it ever not lunch time as far as the dogs are concerned?
@Jenn: I don't kno where they would come from in PA. Perhaps the Junk Draw has a distribution program. In Seattle we can find things like that at Arcie McPhee's. I think they have an ecommerce business.
@Sharkbytes: I'm fortunate there are no dogs in the house. We'll see what the lady bugs do in the Spring.
@Fisher and Staff: Thanks. I appreciate that.
